Mentor Training

 

The Graduate Student Success Center is pleased to announce the creation of IMAGE, Inclusive Mentor Academy for Graduate Education. IMAGE follows a nationally validated curriculum for mentor training, focusing on those in the earlier stages of their experiences as graduate student mentors working with high school, undergraduate, or early stage graduate students. 

IMAGE follows the curriculum developed by CIMER, Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research. 

In the Spring 2025, IMAGE will be offered in eight - 90 minute sessions for two separate groups:

  • For postdocs: Wednesdays from January 22 to March 12, from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. All sessions will be online. Postdocs apply here
  • For graduate students: Thursdays from January 23 to March 13, from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm. All sessions will be held in person in the main Gainesville campus.  Graduate students apply here.

Week 7 - Fostering independence

Week 8 - Cultivating ethical behavior

To participate in IMAGE, potential applicants must: 

1. Be a current graduate student or postdoc at the University of Florida

2. Be available to complete all eight 90 minute sessions
